Centennial shuts out Sandy in league opener

SOFTBALL - The Eagles score in the seventh inning for a 2-0 win

Dusty Sanstrum and Kena Elliott crossed home plate in the top of the seventh inning to provide the only scoring during Centennial's 2-0 softball win in Sandy to start the Mount Hood Conference season Monday afternoon.

Eagles' pitcher Kaitlin West went the distance and struck out nine batters to get the win.

In other softball action, Corbett blew out the Aloha junior varsity 21-11. Heather Anderson led the charge by hitting 4 for 5 with a triple, while teammate Maggie Young banged a grand slam.
