Myriad flags on the Reed College lawn

by: Photo submitted by BEE reader Lance Means,

Looking rather like the remnants of a late winter snowfall, the front lawn of Reed College was bedecked with small flags on Thursday, March 8th, described as 3,000 flags for fallen American soldiers, and another 112,000 'for every six Iraqis that have fallen in Iraq'.

The 1960's student radical group 'Students for a Democratic Society', newly revived with a chapter numbering an estimated 100 members at Reed College, said that it had organized the stunt, and the college confirms that it had approved it.
