New Brooklyn clinic offers acupuncture, alternative healing
A new acupuncture clinic in the Brooklyn neighborhood reportedly makes patients both physically relaxed and mentally energized. Brooklyn Community Acupuncture, located at 1212 S.E. Powell Blvd, also offers affordable fees on a sliding scale, 'in order to make treatment more accessible for working people'. Sessions usually last about an hour, and are performed in small groups of 3-4 patients.
Brooklyn owners Maria Perez and Joseph Goldfedder, both licensed acupuncturists, have some eight years of experience between them. They work cooperatively on-site with additional healers: Yvonne M. Kelley, LMT, performs Shiatsu massage; Barbara I. Ahren, LMT, provides traditional Thai, Trigger Point, and Swedish massage; and Lisa M. Ellis, Lac, participates in acupuncture, Chinese medicine, and massage.
The business is open Mondays through Fridays from 9 am to 7 pm, and weekends from 9 am until l pm. For additional information, check the Internet website at: www.brooklyncommunityacupuncture.com.
