The Winter Hawks, as Portland Sports Group LLC, have filed counter claims against Portland Arena Management in Multnomah County Circuit Court, seeking to rectify certain issues, including billing processes and arena dates, Hawk President Jack Donovan says.
PAM, which contracts with Global Spectrum to run the Rose Garden and Memorial Coliseum, had sued the Hawks to force the team to use its ticket distributor, New Era Systems, rather than allow the team to keep longtime ticketing arrangements with Joe's (formerly G.I. Joe's) and Fred Meyer.
Meanwhile, Donovan seeks a meeting with J. Isaac, Trail Blazer senior vice president of business affairs, to discuss the hockey team's lease in the wake of Vulcan Inc. -Paul Allen's company - repurchasing PAM assets.
Donovan and owner Jim Goldsmith say they will continue to pressure the city for coliseum improvements, to open up revenue streams and to manage the building.
