Barlow's Miller wins at Gresham Golf Course

GIRLS GOLF - Gresham finishes third overall on its home course

Miserable rainy weather at Gresham Golf Course on Wednesday, April 11 had little effect on some of the Mount Hood Conference's premier girls golfers.

Barlow's Megan Miller captured medallist honors with a tournament-low score of 78, beating her nearest pursuer by four strokes.

Miller shot a 39 on both nines - even though Gresham's back nine is reputed to have a greater degree of difficulty than its front nine.

'I try not to think about (weather conditions),' Miller said. 'But there were some times where it's just annoying and you're trying to concentrate.'

Gresham's Emily Slayton was not far behind Miller for most of the tournament and finished fourth overall with an 86 tally.

St. Mary's claimed its third straight team title with a 339 total, beating runner-up Central Catholic by 40 strokes.
