Anniversary - Leonard and Claribel Carpenter

East County residents Leonard and Claribel Carpenter recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary with breakfast in Gresham, a trip to John Day, where their grandson coaches baseball for Grant Union High School, and dinner at The Snaffle Bit Dinner House in John Day.
They were married April 10, 1942, in Kansas City, Mo.
Leonard and Claribel both taught in Portland Public Schools, but are now retired.
They are members of Powell Valley Covenant Church in Gresham and the Gideons. They are avid sports fans and enjoy watching their children and grandchildren participate in youth sports.
Leonard and Claribel have four sons, Len of Astoria, Craig of Chandler, Ariz., Keith of Seattle and Scott of Gresham. They also have 13 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
