Boring Farmers Market sets musical lineup

The Farmers Market in downtown Boring will kick off its second season beginning at 9 a.m. Sunday, June 3. The market is just off Highway 212 between Wally Road and Dee Street.
The market continues every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and ends Sept. 9 with a fun-filled party called The Boring Celebration. It showcases produce by local farmers and unusual artwork and crafts by local and regional artisans. Plant and herb starts, fresh berries and produce, specialty trees, locally roasted organic and fair trade coffee, unique pepper jellies, garden art and other unique crafts also are featured.
The market also will offer live music every Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The music schedule is as follows:
June 3 - Back Up and Push (bluegrass and more).
June 10 - Way Down South (fast-moving acoustic).
June 17 - Steve Cheseborough and special guest vocalist Tais Medalia (Chezz Blues Happenings).
June 24 - Bridge City Bluegrass.
July 1 - KGB (traditional, fast-moving bluegrass and more instrumentalists).
July 8 - No Time 2 Lose (bluegrass and a little John Prine).
July 15 - Ida Viper (visit www.idaviper.com).
July 22 - Wicky Pickers: (local acoustic-eclectic, Celtic, early-century jazz and bluegrass with a classical twist).
July 29 - To be announced.
Aug. 5 - Lost Creek (acoustic instrumentals and vocals; visit www.lostcreekmusic.com).
Aug. 12 - To be announced.
Aug. 19 - Kevin Johnson (multi-instrumentalist).
Aug. 26 - On The Street (gospel, classic country and folk).
Sept. 2 - KGB (traditional, fast-moving bluegrass and more).
Sept. 9 - 10 a.m. to noon, No Time 2 Lose; noon to 2 p.m., The Portland Jazz Orchestra.
Proceeds from the market help support the development of a local park, the Park at Boring Station.
Vendor applications are being accepted.
Spaces cost $20 a week with a discount for regular attendance.
Vendors must be properly licensed.
