Keeping it local and drug and alcohol free

Sandy High School's class of 2007 will hold its senior all-night party at the new Mt. Hood Athletic Club in Sandy. Parents have been busy since August planning the event for their children with high hopes of making this 'A Night to Remember.'

'The amount of support we are getting from our local businesses is overwhelming,' said event co-chairperson Marion Beatty.

Added co-chairperson Ginny Gilbertson, 'We started out on our search for donations, and as we approached the locals, they were stepping up to the plate with more than we ever anticipated.'

Sparky's Pizza, Taco Bell, Safeway and Figaro's surprised the organizers by offering to supply the entire event with all of the food. These savings allow the group to provide more prizes for the graduates. The group's goal is for every senior to go home with a prize as well as provide them with a keepsake photo keychain.

One of the bonuses for keeping it local is that students can attend the graduation celebration for only $20. This includes transportation to the party immediately after graduation. In addition to the swimming and sauna facilities that the club is offering, All About Fun Entertainment Company will have an assortment of inflatables, casino games, a disc jockey and karaoke. There will also be a local magician, and boxer bingo will be played throughout the evening.

The committee is still looking for donations. Tax-deductible cash donation or gift items may be sent to: Pioneer Booster Club / Sandy All Night Party Committee, P.O. Box 1611, Sandy, 97055.

The committee would like to thank the following businesses for their support on this event.

Sparky's Pizza, Taco Bell, Safeway, Figaro's, McDonalds, Radio Shack, Iseli Nursery, Hydro Mulchers, All State Insurance, Big Town Teriyaki, Clackamas County Bank, the Clackamas County Sheriff's Department, Dairy Queen, Dr Scott Hansen, Dr. Hardin, Ed Jones, Eldridge Construction, Fred Meyer, Fred's RV, Joyful Noise Preschool, Dr. Claggett, KLM Construction, Merit Properties, Mt.
