On Dec. 17, 2006, our family faced a great tragedy. Losing your home in a fire is such a helpless feeling. Much to our surprise, we had calls about donations as soon as the next day. It made us realize what a wonderful, tight-knit community we live in.
We want to thank everyone for all of the donations, cards, gift cards, checks, furniture, donations to the bank fund, clothing, Christmas presents, bikes for the boys, toys and for all of the prayers.
We would like to thank our family and close friends for all of the work they have done for us and for their time. We also want to thank KLM Construction for all of their hard work and time that they have put in on our new home.
We also want to thank Don and Jeannine Hokanson, owners of Smokey Hearth Pizza, and all of their employees for hosting a big fund-raiser for our family. They also have been donating all of their tips to us for a new home.
We also want to thank Kate McKague and the other ten seniors for putting on a fund-raiser for their senior project at the Resort at the Mountain. Thank you to the resort at the mountain for their support with that fund-raiser. Thank you to Sysco Food Services for donations for both fund-raisers.
To say thank you we would like to invite our supporters to see the product of all their hard work and donations. There will be an open house and barbecue at our new home from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, April 21, 17221 Scales Ave., Sandy.
We hope to see you there!
