Portland, Oregon prices well over $3 a gallon
Portland area gas prices have hit a record high, according to AAA Oregon-Idaho.
As of Monday morning, the average price for a gallon of regular was $3.112. The previous record was $3.097 for a gallon of regular on May 30, 2006.
The Portland area figures reflect the rest of the state, said AAA Oregon-Idaho public and government affairs director Elliott Eki. The Oregon statewide average for regular gasoline set a new record Monday morning of $3.123. The previous record was $3.111 set on May 28, 2006.
Other records for a gallon of regular gasoline set on Monday were: Eugene/Springfield, $3.174 compared to $3.164 on March 27, 2006; Salem, $3.111 compared to $3.085 on June 1, 2006.
The Salem area was also headed towards a record high, said Eki.
