The Portland Chinooks lead their division of the International Basketball League at 7-1 going into a 2 p.m. Sunday game against the Vancouver Volcanoes at the Stott Center. Former Oregon State forward David Lucas leads the Chinooks, and the IBL, with 37.1 points per game. He scored 51 in his last outing.
• Former Portland Pilot Pooh Jeter will lead the Colorado 14ers against the Dakota Wizards in Sunday's NBA Development League title game at Bismarck, N.D. Jeter started all 50 games at point guard, averaging 14.4 points and a league-high 7.1 assists.
• The Portland Shockwave open their sixth season of women's football at 7:30 p.m. Saturday against the Seattle Majestics at McKenzie Stadium in Vancouver, Wash. All home games will be played at McKenzie, 2205 N.E. 138th Ave.
The Shockwave went 7-2 last year, losing to Sacramento 37-27 in an Independent Women's Football League playoff game at Lincoln High. Coached by Chad Howard, the Shockwave will play eight league games - two against Seattle, and three each against the Redding (Calif.) Rage and rival Corvallis Pride.
