No early birds

Most estate and garage sales begin early on a Friday or weekend day.

Seasoned garage sale-goers know that getting there early is key. But so-called 'early birds,' those who snoop around before the official start time, are not always welcome guests.

A Lake Oswego woman complained to police that her mother, who was having an estate sale on Friday morning on Berwick Court, noticed people searching for bargains. She requested extra patrols over the weekend, after finding that the early birds were peeking through her mother's windows before the sale began.
