A 57-year-old Beaverton man was injured Monday when the commercial truck he was driving crashed through a guardrail on Highway 20 west of Eddyville and rolled down an embankment.

Lester W. Kissinger was taken to Samaritan Pacific Communities Hospital in Newport with non-life threatening injuries, as Oregon state troopers continue an investigation.

According to Trooper Michael Hansen, at about 5:10 p.m., a 2006 Freightliner truck pulling two trailers loaded with paper rolls was eastbound on Highway 20 near milepost 17.

As the truck and trailers were negotiating a left curve, the truck collided with the guardrail on the shoulder and rolled about 30 feet down an embankment to where it came to rest.

Traffic was reduced to one lane for about an hour.

State police were assisted at the scene by members of the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, Toledo Fire Department, PacWest ambulance and Oregon Department of Transportation.
