BIkes for Humanity PDX collects, fixes and distributes bicycles
Bikes for Humanity PDX will hold an all-day bicycle donation and adoption drive on Saturday, July 9, at St. David of Wales Episcopal Church, 2800 S.E. Harrison St. in Portland, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Donated bicycles of all types will be accepted, and donors will receive receipts for tax-deduction purposes. Road, mountain, commuter, cruiser and BMX bikes will be offered for adoption. Some of the bicycles will be refurbished on site.
Bikes for Humanity PDX is a Portland nonprofit group, founded in 2008, which works with other organizations such as the Girl Scouts of Lake Oswego and Portland's Community Cycling Center to collect and distribute donated bikes.
Financial aid and work-trade are available to potential bike adopters.
