Beaverton's Stoll wins again
Beaverton's Gigi Stoll did it again.
Stoll, 14, earned medalist honors in the Girls 15-17 division of the Oregon Junior Amateur Championship at Reames Golf and Country Club in Klamath Falls on Tuesday.
Stoll won with a 66-78 despite taking a septuple bogey on the ninth hole on Tuesday. Her Monday round nearly matched the course record, and despite Tuesday's troubles, she still managed to finish at even par.
Little League 10-11 district baseball gets going
The District 4 Little League all-star tournament for 10-11 baseball teams is underway now at Cook Park in Tigard.
Today's (Thursday's) games include Cedar Mill vs. SW Portland at 6 p.m., and Murrayhill vs. Lake Oswego at 6:15 p.m., while Sun Creek faces Tigard at 6 p.m. Friday and SW Portland meets Murrayhill at 6:15 p.m. Friday. Semi-finals are set for 6 and 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, and the finals for 6 p.m. Wednesday.
Little League 10-11 district softball to start
The District 4 Little League all-star tournament for 10-11 softball teams opens Tuesday at Alpenrose Dairy.
Beaverton begins play at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
Wildcat girls hoop campe coming up
The Wildcat Girls Basketball Camp is set for June 27-30 at Westview High School and open to players going into third through eighth grades.
The camp will be staffed by Wildcat players and Westview staff, with grades 3-5 participating from 9 a.m. to noon, and grades 6-8 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The cost is $90 for grades 3-5 and $135 for grades 6-8. Registration opens at 8:30 a.m. Monday.
