Even in the pouring rain, about 650 walkers took to the streets of Lake Oswego in this year's Buddy Walk, organized by the Down Syndrome Network of Oregon. Some are shown above. Katie Carlsen, a recent graduate of Lake Oswego High School who was born with Down syndrome, introduced the walk. The Lake Oswego Lions Club provided lunch and Scout Troup No. 469 led the Pledge of Allegiance. Grand marshals were members of the Lake Oswego Little League Team and their coach, Harrison Ramey. Keynote speaker was Ian Lamont, athletic director at Lakeridge High School. The walk raised more than $30,000 to fund support programs for local families living with Down syndrome.
