TIGARD - The NW Natural Street of Dreams opens its doors on Bull Mountain on Aug. 6, but the annual event is helping raise money for a local organization with a block party Thursday, Aug. 4.

Presented by Knipe Realty NW, the block party will give guests a preview of the Street of Dreams' five Earth Advantage certified homes while also supporting a worthy cause.

Since its inception in 1983, the annual Street of Dreams charity event has raised more than $1.2 million for 75 local charities.

Proceeds from the block party will go to support the Amy Roloff Charitable Foundation, a Portland-area charity that advocates for children with social, mental, physical and emotional challenges. Roloff, who starred with her family in the TLC television reality series, 'Little People Big World,' will be on hand at the event to discuss the charity.

The block party is scheduled for 6 to 10 p.m. at the Brentwood Estates on Bull Mountain.

Tickets for the Aug. 4 block party are $55 and can be purchased at Five dollars from every ticket purchase will benefit the Amy Roloff Charitable Foundation.

McCabes open mobile office

SHERWOOD - The McCabe Real Estate Group has opened its mobile office for Sherwood John L. Scott. The new mobile style office, provided by the McCabe Real Estate Group owners and Sherwood residents Todd and Leslie McCabe, will allow several Sherwood John L. Scott Market Center agents a local office while embracing the move to a new mobile office concept.

Open since July 1, the mobile office is located in the Hunter Ridge building across from Safeway at 20510 S.W. Roy Rogers Road, Suite 100.

Water agency has new deputy GM

Clean Water Services has named Diane Taniguchi-Dennis deputy general manager to manage the day-to-day operations of the water resource management utility providing wastewater and stormwater services to more than 527,000 residents of urban Washington County. Taniguchi-Dennis will join the district full time on Aug. 1.

Taniguichi-Dennis most recently served as public works director for the city of Albany, where she earned a national reputation for her leadership and innovative approach to managing water, wastewater, drainage and transportation systems.

Taniguchi-Dennis is a licensed professional engineer in the state of Oregon and holds a BS in civil and environmental engineering from Cornell University and a master's of business administration from the Atkinson Graduate School of Management at Willamette University.

Derek Sandell achieves AAMS

Derek R. Sandell of the financial services firm Edward Jones in Tualatin has achieved the professional designation of accredited asset management specialist.

Sandell successfully completed the AAMS professional education program from the Denver-based College for Financial Planning. Those who complete the program, pass a final exam and sign a code of ethics and disclosure form earn the designation.

The training offers investment professionals the hands-on information needed to provide comprehensive financial services.
