Waffle lands Beaverton job
Former city manager from Cornelius will help city work with Metro
Dave Waffle, former city manager of Cornelius, will spend the summer helping Beaverton negotiate the tricky world of regional planning.
The city announced the hiring of Waffle, who was ousted from his job in a divided city council vote in June, in a press release last week.
Beaverton Mayor Denny Doyle praised Waffle's hiring, saying he'd help the city with a county-sponsored study of the Aloha-Reedville area and as Metro liaison.
'I am thrilled to have Dave join our team, as his collaborative management style fits perfectly with our brand here in Beaverton,' Doyle said in the release.
Waffle said he appreciated the response from nearby city managers following his ouster from Cornelius. Doyle serves as Beaverton city manager as well as mayor.
The position will last six months.
