Information from the public safety column comes from the records of the Lake Oswego Police Department. Police recently filed reports on the following incidents:

11/3/07 4 p.m. Shawn Joseph Colligan, 31, was arrested on suspicion of driving while suspended. A person called to say that Colligan's Land Rover was swerving.

11/3/07 8:04 p.m. David Ronald Clay, 35, was arrested on suspicion of a DUII on Boones Ferry Road.

10/31/07 10:35 p.m. Michael Lee Box, 24, was arrested on suspicion of DUII on Carman Drive.

11/5/07 3:31 p.m. Heidi Hertsche Hungerford, 46, was arrested on suspicion of DUII on Greentree Road.

10/31/07 2:21 p.m. At the Mountain Park Rec Center, $8 cash was stolen from a backpack on top of a locker.

11/5/07 1:05 p.m. A 2-gig iPod Nano was stolen. It was valued at $199.

11/1/07 1:55 p.m. A car ran into a house on Hotspur Street and broke the natural gas line.

10/31/07 9:28 a.m. At Oswego Pioneer Cemetery, an officer observed an injured owl and decided to leave the owl.

11/1/07 12:06 a.m. An upset woman requested that police sweep up gravel and dirt and cut a limb from a tree near her Fifth Street property.

11/1/07 3:59 a.m. Screams of 'Get Out!' were heard, possibly directed toward a male. Police arrived and cited Jason D. Butts, 35, with an open container.

11/1/07 7:48 a.m. There was a report of a woman sitting in her green Ford for 45 minutes on Vervantes Road. Police found her and determined she lived on that street. Mystery solved.

11/1/07 8:34 a.m. Police received a report of a cell phone that had been lost two or three months ago.

11/1/07 7:48 a.m. A house was in its fourth year of being worked on - about the same amount of time it took to build Pittock Mansion. This prompted a neighbor to complain, but officers found no violations.

11/1/07 7:48 a.m. A large boat had been parked on Overlook Drive since August or September. Officers left a message with the boat owner.

11/1/07 11:36 a.m. A woman said her ex-husband broke into her house and took some baby books. The man later admitted he was 'confiscating' the books from the house, according to a police report.

11/1/07 12:33 p.m. RE/MAX Realty signs were left on a property on Bryant Road, as well as a Hasson Realty sign. An officer returned the signs to the Realtors.

11/1/07 1:24 p.m. A construction site flagger reported that a man in a blue Lexus refused to stop for the stop sign and swore at him. Police found him and warned him about heeding the directions of flaggers.

11/1/07 2:51 p.m. A caller wanted to know where a friend should park his motorhome when he comes to visit. He was sent a copy of the city ordinance.

11/1/07 2:52 p.m. A woman called police wanting to speak with an officer about her daughter being in an abusive relationship.

11/1/07 3:24 p.m. Police contacted the owner of a car that was parked in a handicapped spot without a handicapped permit displayed. The owner had a valid permit and forgot to display it.

11/1/07 4:04 p.m. A man called, reporting that his girlfriend had called him and said she had cut herself. Police checked on her, and she went home with her boyfriend.

11/1/07 4:20 p.m. A woman said she had lost her cordless phone while in a wheelchair scooter, possibly away from her residence on Fourth Street. She first lost reception, then lost the phone.

11/1/07 5:22 p.m. Two people were seen getting into a black Honda, seemingly drunk. Police found them and discovered they were just goofing around, apparently working on their Dudley Moore imitations.

11/1/07 5:37 p.m. An officer found a dog and returned it to its owner.

11/1/07 11:06 p.m. A man left his home trying to find the people who stole and smashed his pumpkins - proof that pumpkin smashing, even after Halloween, is not a victimless crime.

11/1/07 11:18 p.m. A woman called police to say she was at a friend's house trying to get money due her for rent. The matter was referred to small claims court.

11/1/07 11:59 p.m. A woman complained that a friend had taken her keys and had gone to his home in West Linn. Turned out, the friend hid her keys in her apartment.

11/2/07 8:20 a.m. After several eggings in his area, a man called to request extra patrols on McEwan Road.

11/2/07 2:09 p.m. In an alleged road rage incident, a BMW driver didn't yield to a driver and then spit on his car and yelled profanities. The BMW also sped through a school zone near Jefferson Parkway. In response, BMW said it will consider discontinuing the 'Jackass Overdrive Switch.'

11/2/07 2:20 p.m. A female Sheltie, with no collar and no chip, but apparently groomed, was found in the area of Ninth Street. He was given to a nearby vet clinic for safekeeping.

11/2/07 5:32 p.m. At a local restaurant, a person tried to stab his or herself with a steak knife. The person was transported to a nearby hospital.

11/2/07 8:30 p.m. Someone placed hidden cameras and microphones in his or her apartment at the Iron House Apartments.

11/3/07 8:07 a.m. An elderly woman in a blue bathrobe and blue pajamas was walking in circles in the middle of the road, near South Shore Boulevard. Officers returned her to her residence.

11/3/07 10:22 a.m. A person was seen sweeping up glass on Blue Heron Court and requesting assistance. No one was there to assist when police arrived.

11/3/07 4:10 p.m. Two vehicles were keyed on Monroe Parkway. A caller said it was the second or third weekend in a row of vehicles being keyed.

11/3/07 6:11 p.m. Near Jean Road, a person found three nooses with fake bodies along the side of the road. Police couldn't find them.

11/3/07 7:29 p.m. There was a report of a moustached man who was standing on the corner near A Avenue and North State Street. He appeared to have been in a fight and was yelling 'Yo, Adrienne!'

11/4/07 12:01 a.m. When a person stopped to get gas at the Shell station on Boones Ferry, the employee didn't come out.

11/4/07 12:19 p.m. A man called police to say he was concerned that his daughter was supposed to be at a seminar in Portland and did not show up. Turns out she was staying at a friends' place, not the place she originally said she would be.

11/4/07 2:56 p.m. There was a report of the train arms down but no train, at Bryant Road. The railroad was notified.

11/4/07 5:22 p.m. A man's basement filled with water. It was coming up through the shower, even after the water had been shut off.

11/4/07 6:43 p.m. A man walked into a Lake Oswego fire station and said he was going to kill himself and he was looking for help. He was taken to a hospital.

11/4/07 6:50 p.m. A father was yelling at his daughter. The daughter told police the argument was actually between her mother and dad, and the mother said all was OK.

11/5/07 9:45 a.m. A bike and jump rope were found near Fourth Street and A Avenue.

11/5/07 11:36 a.m. A resident on Lake Shore Road complained that construction vehicles on both sides of the road were blocking her driveway. Police found numerous violations.

11/5/07 11:39 a.m. At the West End Building, a motorhome was seen in the upper parking lot. A caller said the motorhome was parked there every few weeks. Police asked the owner to contact them.

11/5/07 12:10 p.m. A man near the Applebee's restaurant in a Toyota 4-Runner nearly hit a group of people, then yelled at one of the girls that he would run over her if he sees her again.

11/5/07 12:17 p.m. There was a verbal disturbance between a father and son at a dental office. Police found there was no crime, just a child who wanted his braces removed and a dad who probably wished he didn't need them in the first place.

11/5/07 1:12 p.m. A citizen contacted an officer regarding a company which was advertising by throwing flyers wrapped around rocks into driveways. An effective ploy for a glass replacement company.

11/5/07 2:41 p.m. At the Crown Plaza, a person reported that a woman was using an unauthorized credit card. Police discovered it was hers.

11/5/07 4:15 p.m. A short-hair golden retriever came out of a garage and charged at a woman. The dog wouldn't let her pass. Easy, big fella.

11/5/07 5:08 p.m. A person's daughter had not been seen since Oct. 31, and the complainant believed the girl was with her boyfriend, who drives a yellow Lexus and is believed to be giving her drugs and alcohol.
