Dig prompts gas leak
- Lake Oswego Review - News
Just before 3 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 8, crews digging post holes at 16964 Gassner Lane hit a natural gas line with an auger creating a leak.
The workers were digging holes for a fence post. Lake Oswego firefighters evacuated at least 5 homes in the immediate area and blocked off the area.
The affected area was Washington Court, from Inverurie Avenue to Denny Court.
Several children were kept from going home, after being dropped off by the school bus. They stayed with police officers until the gas leak was stopped.
At 3:15 p.m. Northwest Natural Gas arrived to mitigate the situation.
