'The 12 Angry Pigs,' a Sandy Actors Theatre production featuring a cast of 21 young actors, runs at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, July 15-16, and 3 p.m. Sunday, July 17.

Included in the production is an audience participation version of 'Cinderella' -- directed by Kaitlyn Cooley -- one-act plays and monologues.

'Their enthusiasm is limitless,' Director Jim Wilhite said of the actors, ages 9-17. 'They're learning stage craft and building character.'

He explained the Actors Theatre youth program began with production of 'The Best Christmas Pageant Ever' and expanded as he saw the youths' 'thirst' for acting.

His vision is to have a mainstay production children's show and to continue offering acting classes and opportunities.

'Not only are the kids having a good time and learning acting skills, they're being out in front of the public and learning self-esteem,' Wilhite said. 'The best way to learn to act is to act.'

Tickets for 'The 12 Angry Pigs' are $8 per person. For reservations, call 503-668-6834.
