Genevieve Glynn celebrated her 100th birthday Dec. 9 with friends and family at Maryville Nursing home in Beaverton. Until recently Mrs. Glynn was a resident of Lake Oswego.

Born on Dec. 9, 1907, in St. Louis, Mo., she is an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan. At the age of 88, she threw out the first pitch to begin the Cardinals' 1997 season.

During her lifetime she worked 49 years as a supervisor for Laclede Gas Co. in St. Louis.

She considered Lake Oswego her 'home away from home' and visited her niece Jane Phelps's family twice a year for 30 years. She made many friends in the area during those years.
