A woman making a quick pit stop on her way to PDX at the A Avenue Shell station forgot one critical step before she left.

On Sunday afternoon, the woman in a silver car pulled in for a fill-up. Everything was going according to plan until she decided to leave - with the gas hose still in her car's gas tank.

She bolted forward, snapped the hose and stopped her car. An employee at the station said the woman did not give him enough time to pull the nozzle out, put the gas cap on and give her a receipt.

He said the premature departure did not hurt the car. The hoses are designed with a safety release mechanism in cases like these, and by Monday afternoon the hose was reattached and working again.
