Rachel Reiff of Gresham was named to the dean's list at Emory College, the undergraduate, liberal arts college of Emory University in Atlanta for the 2011 spring semester.
Students must be in the top 20-percent of Emory College or have approximately a 3.86-grade-point average or higher to be named to the dean's list.
She is the daughter of Sherwin and Virginia Reiff.
Ahren Foster of Gresham received a master's degree in divinity from the Candler School of Theology of Emory University in Atlanta at its 166th commencement ceremony May 9.
The following students from Gresham were named to the president's list at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash.: Allison Blake, Emerald Dumas and Benjamin Stewart.
Students must earn between a 3.70- to 4.0-grade-point average to be listed.
Sara Davis of Damascus was named to the dean's list at Gonzaga University in Spokane, Wash. Students must earn a 3.5- to 3.69-grade-point average to be listed.
Eastern Oregon University
The following students were named to the dean's list for the 2011 spring term at Eastern Oregon University in La Grande.
Jesse Achatz of Boring, Olesya Baykalova of Troutdale, Lauren Bruene of Corbett, Rebecca Burnett of Troutdale, James Dezellem of Gresham, Karli Dirksen of Gresham, Brock Eckstein of Gresham and Ciara O'Neal of Troutdale.
To qualify, students must achieve and maintain a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale while completing a minimum of 12 hours of graded coursework for the duration of the term.
The following local students recently graduated from Pacific University in Forest Grove.
Damascus: Andrea Courtnier, bachelor's degree, integrative physiology; and Elena Harrah, master's degree, counseling psychology.
Fairview: Brent Anderson, bachelor's degree, exercise science; and Cathryn Braeback, Master of Fine Arts, writing.
Gresham: Lianne Bailey, bachelor's degree, environmental studies; Mark Breeden, doctorate, optometry; Lukian Efseaff, master's degree, teaching; Jessica Heintz, bachelor's degree, social work; Summer Ireland, master's degree, occupational therapy; Rochelle Reeves, bachelor's degree, education and learning; and Nathaniel Shay, bachelor's degree, history: anthropology and sociology.
University of Portland
Elizabeth Worlein of Gresham graduated magna cum laude from the University of Portland in May.
Worlein received her bachelor's degree in early childhood and elementary education; her degree included teaching endorsements in reading and English as a second language.
In addition to graduating in the top-5 percent of her class, she was awarded the School of Education Kappa Delta Pi honor society award.
Worlein attended St. Mary's Academy in Portland and is the daughter of Jim Worlein and Shelley Buhler of Gresham. Her mother and maternal grandmother are retired teachers. Her sister, Mary, is studying social work at the University of Portland.
University of Arkansas
Nathanael Franks of Damascus was named to the chancellor's list at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville, Ark., for earning a 4.0-grade-point average.
Franks graduated from Barlow High School in 2010.
Yvan Trinh of Gresham received a bachelor's degree from Whitman College in Walla Walla, Wash., at the 2011 commencement ceremony on Sunday, May 22.
Antioch University Seattle
Emily Frankie of Gresham recently graduated from Antioch University Seattle with a master's degree in mental health counseling with a second degree in art therapy.
Emily is the daughter of Maria McKenzie of Gresham and granddaughter of Mike and Sue McKenzie of Gresham. She graduated from Barlow High School in 2002 and Southern Oregon University in 2006.
