Reckless driver caught in Willamette
A West Linn man was arrested Saturday evening for what police say was a dangerous tryst behind the wheel in Willamette - even becoming airborne at one point.
Corey Michael Rogers, 23, was charged with reckless driving and lodged at the Clackamas County Jail.
The incident started when the West Linn Police Department received a report of a vehicle driving in a reckless manner in Willamette Park, speeding down 12th St toward Volpp St. at the bottom of the hill.
The car then turned left without stopping at the stop sign, nearly striking pedestrians walking along the road.
The car then reportedly jumped the curb and went completely airborne. It then sped back up the hill as officers arrived.
Ofc. Vince Moreschi located the vehicle in the Sheri's parking lot on 8th Court. After an investigation, Rogers was arrested.
'Luckily no one was injured during this incident,' said Sgt. Neil Hennelly, West Linn police spokesman.
