by: Lake Oswego Fire Department,

A fire on Dec. 12 at 17814 Marylcreek Drive caused an estimated $7,000 damage to a hot tub and deck. The homeowner, Dian Connett, noticed smoke from the back deck while she was in the kitchen. When she walked outside to investigate, she noticed flames coming from the hot tub and quickly called 9-1-1. When firefighters arrived, there was smoke and fire on the back deck. They put the fire out in about 10 minutes. Investigators believe the cause was an electrical component of the hot tub.
