Library events for July 16

The following is a list of free programs and events being held at the following East Multnomah County libraries: Fairview-Columbia Library, 1520 N.E. SUNDAY, JULY 17

Komedy 4 da Kids - 12:30 to 1:15 p.m., Fairview-Columbia Library. A bilingual and interactive performance with physical comedy, juggling, balancing and magic.

Chess at the Library - 1 to 4:30 p.m., Gresham Library. Have fun playing chess or Chinese chess. The library will provide equipment. All ages welcome.

Professor Banjo - 1 to 2 p.m., Troutdale Library. Professor Banjo entertains children with sing-a-longs, dancing games and musical stories.

Computer Lab - 2 to 4:30 p.m., Rockwood Library. Lab assistants are available to help beginners practice their computer skills. Assistance is available in Russian and English.

Tiny Tots - 10 to 10:45 a.m., Gresham Library. Storytime for children, ages 12-24 months, with an adult.

Toddler Storytime - 10:15 to 10:45 a.m., Troutdale Library. Storytime for children, ages 24-36 months, with an adult.

Toddler Storytime - 11 to 11:30 a.m., Gresham Library. Storytime for children, ages 24-36 months, with an adult.

Preschool Storytime - 11:15 to 11:45 a.m., Troutdale Library. Storytime for children, ages 3-6, with an adult.

Computer Lab for Job Seekers - 4 to 6 p.m., Gresham Library. Update your resume, file for unemployment or apply for a dream job in this computer lab for job seekers. Limited technical support is provided.

TUESDAY, JULY 19

Book Babies - 10:15 to 11 a.m., Gresham Library. Storytime for infants up to 12 months old, with an adult.

Preschool Storytime - 10:30 to 11:15 a.m., Gresham Library. Storytime for children, ages 3-6, with an adult.

Homeschool Book Group for Kids - 1 to 2 p.m., Fairview-Columbia Library. Read 'Ballet Shoes' by Noel Streatfield. For homeschoolers, ages 6-10.

Homeschool Book Group for Teens - 2 to 3 p.m., Fairview-Columbia Library. Read 'Nation' by Terry Pratchett. For homeschoolers, ages 14-18.

Write Your Own Monologue - 2 to 3:30 p.m., Rockwood Library. Learn how to write your own theatrical monologues. Bring your ideas and be ready to play.

Computer Lab - 3 to 5 p.m., Troutdale Library. Lab assistants are available to help beginners practice their computer skills.

Intercambio/Language Exchange - 6 to 7:30 p.m., Gresham Library. Practice speaking English or Spanish in a friendly atmosphere. Beginners are welcome.

TechnoHosts - 6 to 8 p.m., Rockwood Library. Get free one-on-one help with basic computer issues.

Teen Tuesdays - 6 to 7 p.m., Rockwood Library. Add friends to your real-life social network. Stay at the library after Teen Lounge and chill, craft or just connect.

Pajama Time - 6:30 to 7 p.m., Troutdale Library. Time for children, 6 years old and younger, with an adult to put on their pajamas, grab a bedtime buddy and join in for stories, songs and fun.

WEDNESDAY, JULY 20

Family Crafts - 3 to 4:30 p.m., Troutdale Library. Try your hand at some nifty craft activities. These simple projects are fun for the whole family and are designed for ages 8 and up (younger children must be accompanied by an adult). Supplies will be provided.

Citizenship Classes - 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesdays until Aug. 24, Rockwood Library. Learn about the process of becoming a citizen in this six-session series of classes. Classes are conducted in English. Register online, in the library or by calling 503-988-5234.

Intercambio/Language Exchange - 6 to 7:30 p.m., Rockwood Library. Practice speaking English or Spanish in a friendly atmosphere. Beginners are welcome.

TechnoHosts - 6 to 8 p.m., Rockwood Library. Free one-on-one computer help for the whole family. No registration is required.
