Rotary Club raises community funds with wreaths
The very first customer at the annual S.E. Rotary Club Wreath Sale at the Meyer Boys and Girls Club in Westmoreland, on Friday morning, November 30th - spending $300 on several hand-decorated wreaths - was freelance writer and local resident Rebecca Mowe.
Rebecca, at right in the accompanying photograph, is being provisioned with 30-inch fresh wreaths by Sally Foley, who headed the wreath decorating team this year.
The two-day sale of plain and decorated wreaths climaxed with an oral and silent auction the following evening.
The annual event raises funds to benefit many local nonprofits - including the Boys and Girls Club. The net raised this year approached $32,000.
