Charn Saechao is in serious condition
Troutdale resident Charn Saechao, 46, is in serious but stable condition at Emanuel Hospital after he was run over by a truck on Thursday afternoon, Dec. 20.
Sgt. Marc Shrake, Troutdale Police public information officer, said the collision is under investigation, but that Saechao was apparently in the crosswalk at the end of the Interstate 84 exit 17 when the light turned green for exiting traffic. The truck driver, Phillip Pike, 66, of Michigan was not aware that he hit a pedestrian and continued on to the Travel Centers of America truck stop. Witnesses immediately contacted police and followed Pike, who returned to the scene and cooperated with police.
