Forest Grove well represented at Boys State

Three Forest Grove High School teens were among 127 youth participating in a week of mock government exercises

Three Forest Grove High School teens were among 127 youth participating in a week of mock government exercises during Boys State at the University of Oregon in Eugene last month.

Boys State, sponsored by The American Legion, included mock elections to offices ranging from city council to governor.

A similar program is sponsored by The American Legion Auxiliary for girls and is held at Willamette University in Salem.

Representatives at the 2011 Boys State program in Eugene included Jim Craigg of the local American Legion post and Forest Grove High School students Dominek Barajas, Kyle Brown and Juan Gonzalez.
