The Trail Blazers will play five summer-league games in Las Vegas next month. Portland will open July 6 with a 1 p.m. game against Houston. The Blazers will play Golden State at 6 p.m. on July 7, Minnesota at 5 p.m. on July 9, Washington at 4 p.m. on July 10 and Phoenix at 1 p.m. on July 10.

The Blazers plan to arrive in Lake Tahoe, Nev., on June 30 to prepare for the summer league. 'We want to do some things differently this year,' Blazer President Steve Patterson says. 'The Lake Tahoe opportunity allows us to get away and really focus on preparation for the summer league. We need to maximize every opportunity to improve our team this summer.'

The preseason begins Oct. 11, when Seattle comes to the Rose Garden for a 7 p.m. game. The Blazers' other preseason home games are Oct. 7 versus Golden State at 7 p.m. and Oct. 23 against Utah at 7 p.m. Portland's preseason road games are Oct. 19 at Utah, Oct. 20 at Seattle, Oct. 24 at Golden State, Oct. 25 at the L.A. Clippers and Oct. 27 at Sacramento. Game times have not been determined for the road contests.
