Ducklings on S.E. Harold Street
A sign of summer?
On the first weekend of June, a mother duck and her ducklings were seen heading west on S.E. Harold Street in Westmoreland, heading from heaven knows where, towards--probably--Oaks Bottom. Sympathetic residents along the way walked along, keeping their distance, and stopped traffic on the cross streets to assist the epic and hazardous journey to freedom. As if this were not enough, on June 21st, drivers on S.E. Bybee Blvd. braked for a fawn, ambling across the street between 20th and 21st. Nobody got a picture of that, though.
