by: Clinton Vining, Estacada medics tend to a 46-year-old Boring man who received minor injuries when he collided on his bicycle with a car turning onto Highway 224.

A Boring man riding a bicycle collided with a car at the intersection of Heiple Road and Highway 224 on Sunday morning. He received minor injuries.

Shortly before 9 a.m. on June 11, a 46-year-old man eastbound on a bicycle hit a car turning left from Heiple Road onto westbound Highway 224.

A spokesperson at the Estacada Rural Fire District, who could not release the names of those involved due to privacy laws, said the bicyclist received only minor injuries, including scrapes and bruises. He was not transported.

Several Estacada Fire trucks responded to the scene, where, for a brief time, the eastbound lane of Highway 224 was closed. An American Medical Response ambulance was recalled on the way to the scene and LifeFlight, which was initially put on standby, was not warranted.

The bicyclist was wearing a helmet.
