Jackson, three others leave UO football team

Running back Terrell Jackson and three other players have been given their release from the University of Oregon football team.

Jackson played in seven games as a freshman last year and was the Ducks' sixth-leading rusher with 27 carries for 107 yards. He also caught eight passes for 37 yards. He started one game, at Stanford. Jackson was third on the depth chart at running back for next season, behind sophomores Jonathan Stewart and Jeremiah Johnson.

Also leaving the Ducks are freshman offensive lineman Levi Horn, sophomore defensive lineman Thor Pili and freshman linebacker Tucker Callahan.

In other UO news: Senior Chris Vincent will be returning to the running back position, where he played before last year's switch to linebacker. Portland's Andiel Brown, from Cleveland High, and two true freshmen will also be in the mix at running back.
