Beaverton High School graduate and actress Shoshana Bean will return to her hometown in September to be grand marshal of the city's Celebration Parade.

Bean will star in the Broadway traveling show 'Wicked,' which will be in Portland in mid-September, just in time for the Sept. 16 parade.

'It is always wonderful when we can honor one of our own,' said parade coordinator Leslie Mundt.

Bean portrays Elphaba, the wicked witch of the West, in the musical 'Wicked,' based on the Wizard of Oz stories.
