Suspected sex abuse leads to Aloha arrest

Washington County Sheriff's Office detectives have arrested Benjamin Napier, 42, of Aloha, on numerous charges involving sexual contact with a 6-year-old girl at his wife's day care.

On June 22, at about 6:30 p.m., detectives arrested Napier at 17865 S.W. Jay St. where he lives with his wife, Sharon Napier.

He has been charged with two counts of first-degree sex abuse, along with single counts of first-degree unlawful sexual penetration and first-degree sodomy.

Until April, Sharon Napier ran 'Aunt So's Daycare' from the same residence.

Benjamin Napier is accused of having sexual contact with the girl who was being cared for at the day care. He is being held at the Washington County Jail on $1 million bond.

Because of the circumstances in the case, detectives are concerned that there may be more victims. They are asking anyone with information to call 503-846-2700.

According to Kitty Lake, field manager for the Child Care Division of the Oregon Employment Department, Sharon Napier was registered by the state to run a family childcare home.

However, she closed that home May 1. A registered family childcare home can serve up to 10 children, which include a person's own children, said Lake.
