Lavender beckons at Stonegate Festival
- Lake Oswego Review - News
A lavender-themed summer festival takes place Saturday and Sunday in West Linn with artists and musicians giving guests an authentic feel of Provencal, the region of southern France known for its lush lavender fields.
More than 20 vendors and artists will add their distinctive flair to Lavender at Stonegate from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. both days. Their wares include French collectibles, garden sculptures and signs and sauces and jams. Lavender lemonade, ice cream and cookies will also be available.
Stonegate, at 22615 S.W. Ulsky Road, was a farm originally estab-lished with filbert trees before Eastern Blight took out all 350 trees in 2001. New owner Sarah Bader redesigned Stonegate farm in 2001 to bring a touch of Europe to the area, and now the farm will eventu-ally include 4,500 lavender plants of 30 different varieties.
