Former Gresham resident Marion Frances 'Frannie' Johnsen, 70, died Saturday, June 24, in Portland. No formal services are scheduled.
She was born Jan. 16, 1936, in Bremerton, Wash., to Otis Cecil and Marion Bernice (Leach) Jackson.
The family moved to Broadacres in 1950, where she was raised and educated. She graduated from North Marion High School in 1954.
Marion attended college, where she met Robert Johnsen. They were married Sept. 19, 1954.
Marion ran a child-care business for 40 years, only stopping after developing complications of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, or Lou Gerhig's disease.
She was preceded in death by her husband in 1984.
Survivors include her son, Matthew Johnsen of Portland; daughters, Roberta Johnsen of Gresham and Karyn Haley of Troutdale; sisters, Elenore Chase and Susan Bartroff, both of Seattle and Jean Smith of Mexico; and seven grandchildren.
