Florence L. Carlson-Boyce

Former Gresham resident Florence L. Carlson-Boyce, 77, died Monday, June 26, in Portland. No formal services are planned at this time.

Florence was born Jan. 7, 1929, in Aberdeen Wash., to Ray and Florence Harrington. She was raised and educated in Aberdeen.

In 1946, Florence married Conrad Carlson in Astoria.

The couple moved to Gresham in 1959. Conrad died in 1968.

Florence married Leo Boyce on Sept. 11, 1973, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. Together they owned and operated Leo's Catering Kitchen. They moved to Kennewick, Wash., and retired in 1983 to travel around the country.

They made a new home in Desert Hot Springs, Calif., where they enjoyed golfing together.

Leo died March 6, 2001.

Florence moved back to Gresham in 2003. She has been an active member in the Gresham Eagles Lodge, Gresham Elks and the Gresham Senior Center.

Survivors include her sons, Bob and Ray Carlson of Gresham, David Carlson of Monmouth; stepson, Sterling Boyce of Castle Rock, Wash.; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
