Crash near OC sends driver to jail, then hospital

A Portland woman was taken to the Clackamas County Jail and then to Willamette Falls Hospital for treatment of minor injuries after an early Thursday morning crash on Highway 99E south of Oregon City.

Katherine R. Thompson, 25, could face five charges related to the single-vehicle accident, which occurred about 4:45 a.m. when her 2006 Jeep Liberty went off the east side of the highway near milepost 14, overturned and hit a power pole.

Thompson and her passenger were able to get out of the car but refused medical care after the arrival of Clackamas Fire and Oregon Department of Transportation emergency responders. Oregon State Police officials did not release the name of the passenger.

According to OSP, Thompson's charges could include DUII, reckless driving, recklessly endangering another person, criminal mischief in the second degree and assault in the fourth degree.
