Kim Louise Grindeland
April 18, 1953-June 29, 2006
Gresham resident Kim Louise Grindeland, 53, died Thursday, June 29, in Gresham. A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, July 7, at the North Bend Chapel, 2014 McPherson St., North Bend. A private family graveside service will follow at Ocean View Memory Gardens, Coos Bay.
A local memorial service will be held at a later date at River Hills Church in Gresham.
Kim was born April 18, 1953, in North Bend to Roy A. and Marie L. Heisen. She was raised and educated in North Bend, where she graduated from North Bend High School in 1971. She continued her education at Southwestern Oregon Community College in Coos Bay.
In 1972, Kim married Donald Lay. They lived along the Elk River on the southern Oregon Coast for a short time before moving to Portland.
On Aug. 8, 1986, she married Robert Grindeland in Portland. They made their home in Gresham, where she worked as a medical transcriptionist.
Kim was a member of River Hills Church in Gresham. She enjoyed music, animals, spending time at the beach and gardening at her home and church.
Survivors include her husband of Gresham; parents of North Bend; brothers, Dean Heisen and Ken Heisen, both of North Bend, and Gary Heisen of Tangent; and sisters, Lynn Graves, Kelly Heisen and Barbara Heisen, all of North Bend.
Memorial contributions can be made to the animal shelter of one's choice. North Bend Chapel Cremation and Funeral Service is handling arrangements.
