Police locate the getaway car and find it had been stolen earlier in the day
TIGARD - The Tigard branch of Bank of America was robbed by a male suspect wearing a black coat and a silver motorcycle helmet, he flaunted a handgun during the robbery that happened on Friday, June 30 at approximately 11:50 a.m.
The branch is located at 11999 S.W. Pacific Highway in Tigard.
Witnesses told investigators the suspect entered the bank, displaying the gun and demanded entry to the teller's area.
At that point the suspect took money from several cash drawers said Jim Wolf, Public Information Officer for the Tigard Police Department
The suspect was described as being approximately 6 feet tall and about 200 lbs. wearing a gray shirt with blue jeans.
Wolf said witnesses provided a description of the getaway vehicle and shortly after Tigard Police located a vehicle nearby that matched that description.
The vehicle the police found had been reported stolen earlier in the day from another location in Tigard.
No one was injured. As of July 5, according to Wolf, the FBI continues to investigate.
