OSU's Wagner gets one-year extension
Women's hoop coach now signed through 2010-11 season
Oregon State has given women's basketball coach LaVonda Wagner a one-year contract extension, through the 2010-11 season.
Wagner, 42, is entering her second season with the Beavers.
'LaVonda has proven her ability to move this program forward exponentially in so many ways,' Athletic Director Bob De Carolis says. 'This extension will insure that with her leadership we will have stability and consistency in our program for years to come.'
Wagner led the Beavers to a 16-15 record and a trip to the postseason Women's National Invitation Tournament in her inaugural year at OSU. The Beavers showed a 10-game improvement over their 6-23 finish in 2004-05, the fifth-best turnaround in the nation.
Predicted to finish last in the Pac-10 standings, the Beavers went 7-11 and took seventh in the conference finish.
