Ignatz 'Iggy' John Weber Sr.

Ignatz 'Iggy' John Weber Sr., 97, a resident of Boring, died Monday, July 10, in Portland. A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 12, at St. Michael's Catholic Church, 18090 S.E. Langensand Road, Sandy. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 400 S.W. Walters Drive, Gresham.
Iggy was born May 27, 1909, in Coplay, Pa., to Ignatz and Susanna (Geider) Weber. He was raised and educated in Pennsylvania.
Iggy served in the Army from 1929 to 1931. After his discharge, he worked on a farm near Northampton, Pa. He later opened a farm machinery sales and service business, Weber and Fleck, with his brother-in-law.
On Jan. 26, 1937, Iggy married Mary Fleck in Pennsylvania. He moved to Boring in 1995.
Iggy was a member of the Order of the Arrow in Crossroads, Pa., Lions clubs in Northampton and Gresham, Oregon Breakfast Club and Men's Auxiliary Petersville Rod and Gun Club in Petersville, Pa. He also served as a scoutmaster with the Boy Scouts of America. He enjoyed working on tractors and polka dancing.
On June 19, 2002, Iggy was preceded in death by his wife. He was also preceded in death his brother, Frank Weber; and sisters, Pauline Temos and Anna Krantz.
Survivors include his sons, Jack Weber of Boring and Paul Weber of Oviedo, Fla.; brother, Joe Weber of Nazareth, Pa.; sisters, Gisela Weber of Saddle Brook, N.J., and Rose McKay and Mary Pouliot, both of Clifton, N.J.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
