Aloha man held for stabbing friend
Victim listed in critical condition after being stabbed in torso
Washington County sheriff's deputies arrested a man linked to a stabbing in Aloha early Sunday morning.
Dylan McDowell, 24, was arrested later that day and lodged in the Washington County Jail on first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon and tampering with physical evidence charges.
At 1:54 a.m., deputies responded to the 20000 block of Southwest Clarion Street. Upon arrival, witnesses reported that several friends were together at the suspect's house, and they were all drinking.
An argument occurred between McDowell and 29-year-old Brian Kircher of Beaverton.
Witnesses said, McDowell initially had left the scene, but returned a short time later.
When McDowell returned, he and Kircher began to argue again.
During the argument, deputies believe it turned physical and McDowell stabbed Kircher once in the torso, said Sgt. Vance Stimler, sheriff's office spokesman.
Before deputies arrived, McDowell fled the scene again.
During the course of the investigation, the suspect called deputies to report he was turning himself in at the Washington County Sheriff's Office in Hillsboro.
He was cooperative with deputies and claimed he assaulted Kircher in self-defense.
Meanwhile. Kircher received life-threatening injuries and was transported to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, where he is currently listed in critical condition.
