This week's concerts

West Linn's 'Music in the Park' opens its second year today at 6:30 p.m. at Tanner Creek Park, 3340 Parker Road, with Soul Search, a classy band that plays a variety of music including the Temptations, Sheryl Crow, Shania Twain, Outkast and Frank Sinatra, to name a few.

Attendees can bring a picnic basket or enjoy food from Domino's, B and Bs Way Out West BBQ or Baskin Robbins.

Wine and beer is allowed in the park for these concerts. The next concert will be from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. July 27, with the rhythm and blues of Patrick Lamb.

On Friday, Bossa Nouvea, which features original Brasilian/Afro-Cuban jazz, will get Millennium Plaza Park shaking at noon when it performs at the Summer Splash Series. Bossa Nouveau was created by Jorge Zam-orano, a U.S.-born, Mexican jazz-Latin guitarist.

Casey MacGill and the Blue 4 Trio present boogie-woogie, swing, stride piano and vintage jazz from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Sunday during the 'Moonlight and Music Series' at Millennium Plaza Park.

On Wednesday at Foothills Park, Johnny Martin and his band will play swing, in the tradition of Frank Sinatra, from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Free shuttle buses are available to and from the park.
