Sleater-Kinney tickets go on sale Saturday

The Portland-based band will play two farewell shows in August

Tickets for what could be Sleater-Kinney's last two performances go on sale Saturday at the Crystal Ballroom.

In early July, the Portland-based rock group announced on its Web site that its members - Carrie Brownstein, Corin Tucker and Janet Weiss - had "decided to go on indefinite hiatus." The popular indie rock band started in Olympia, Wash.; named itself after a road in a nearby town; and later made Portland its home.

The 250 remaining tickets for the band's show on Aug. 11 and the first 500 tickets for the Aug. 12 performance go on sale Saturday at noon for walk-up customers only at the Crystal Ballroom, 1332 W. Burnside St.

Any remaining tickets will be available through Ticketmaster, by telephone and through the Crystal Ballroom box office after 1 p.m. Saturday, the venue said.
