Helen Julia Wright, 88, a longtime resident of Boring, died Sunday, July 16.
Viewing will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W. Powell Blvd., Gresham.
A funeral will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, July 20, at Resurrection Lutheran Church, 1700 N.E. 132nd Ave., Portland. Interment will be held at Willamette National Cemetery, 11800 S.E. Mount Scott Blvd., Portland.
Helen was born on Feb. 25, 1918, in Oklahoma City to Albert and Annis Mae (Hollingsworth) Stewart.
On July 6, 1945, Helen married George Washington Wright in Vancouver, Wash. They moved to Portland in 1952, but spent the past 46 years in Boring.
Helen enjoyed ceramics, fishing and singing and dancing to country music.
Survivors include her husband of Boring; sons, Lester Dodd of Oklahoma City, Dennis Wright of Portland and Gary Wright of Sandy; daughters, Nevada Willis of Salem, Judy Wendling of Blanchard, Okla., Nellie Terry of Solomon, Kan., Priscilla LaValla and Sherrie DeGan, both of Portland, and Nancy Wright of Woodland, Wash.; brother, Albert Stewart of Mosier; sister, Gladys Cox of Crescent, Okla.; 33 grandchildren; 48 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions can be made Alzheimer's Association. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
