Obituary: Audie Lois Jonas

Former Gresham resident Audie Lois Jonas, 89, died Saturday, July 15, in Portland.
Viewing will be held from 3 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, July 19, at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W. Powell Blvd., Gresham.
A funeral will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, July 20, at Gresham United Methodist Church, 620 N.W. Eighth St., Gresham. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 400 S.W. Walters Drive, Gresham.
Audie was born Oct. 4, 1916, in Amity, Ark., to Joseph Garrett and Bessie (Eula) Adcock.
On Feb. 24, 1939, Audie married James P. Jonas in Hot Springs, Ark. They moved to Portland in 1954.
She worked for Nabisco for a number of years until she retired in 1974.
Audie was a snowbird and enjoyed living in Arizona during the winter months. She also enjoyed quilting, playing bingo or cards, square dancing and taking cruises.
In 1989, Audie was preceded in death by her husband. Survivors include her sons, James Jonas and Jerry Jonas, both of Portland, and Joel Jonas of Oregon City; daughters, Judy Pope of British Columbia, Canada, Jackie Rhine of Gresham, Paula Reum of St. Helens and Sandra Apon of Portland; 20 grandchildren, 32 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
