Oregon City photos win honors in new contest

Local resident Erin Skinner won $75 and top Oregon City art honors for her "Main Street" photo taken at night.

The winners of the Discover Oregon City’s Hidden Gems Photo Contest, sponsored by the Oregon City Historic Review Board and the Clackamas County Historical Society, were announced last week.

The winning photographs will be displayed at the Museum of the Oregon Territory, 221 Tumwater Drive, on July 21 and 22. Winning photos will also be displayed at Grapevine Gallery & Framing, 623 Seventh St., inside Singer Hill Cafe, during August. Prize money for this event was donated by Danielson’s Hilltop Mall.

In the teen category, Jessica Yambra, a 17-year-old Oregon City High School student won $50 for "McLoughlin House." The Youth Category winner of a $25 prize was Delaney Murphy, 5, for "Elevator."

Several photographs from each category were also selected for honorable mention.
